Hi, My family and I almost fell victim to a puppy scam and I am hoping this post will prevent another family from going through what we just went through. We were looking for a black shiba puppy and came across one on here (image attached). Here are the steps we went through and key points for you to be aware of: The seller (scammer) replied to my inquiry with an email asking for the following info:-very detailed email of the 2 puppies (female Daisy and male Teddy) then proceeded to ask a bunch of questions to ensure we were the right family for adoption.-informed us of a loss in their family and recent move which is why they were selling-adoption/cost would be free but we would have to pay for shipping ($500).-Would not video call with us, informed us they were a Christian family and would ensure me they were not scammers.-provided me with the shipping company name: trustwayshippingservice.com. When I did some digging on that website, it wasn't hard to find out that it was a scam....click this link for example: https://petscams.com/pet-delivery-agency/trustwayshippingservice-com/Long story short, I haven't heard back from them. Luckily we did not end up proceeding so we did not lose any money.My point is be very careful on here. If you are informed that the pet has to go through a "shipping" company, please do some digging.I noticed today there are a lot more shiba's listed on here than there was yesterday so I'm confident there are scammers on here today.
