Position Title: SITE SUPERINTENDENT
Location: Comox, BC (Vancouver Island)
Description:
APRL is looking for a SITE SUPERINTENDENT Team member to manage the construction of a tilt-up addition to the Comox Recreation Centre on Vancouver Island. Successful candidates shall be able to demonstrate a proven and successful track record of previous responsibility in the planning, construction, and day to day field operations of Commercial and institutional Projects.
As Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing the coordination and delivery of construction site activities in accordance with company standards for quality and safety. Supervising of a construction project, you will: maintain construction site schedules and costs, monitor and enforce safety standards, conduct meetings with architect(s), engineer(s), suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment from suppliers.
Working on-site, you will report daily on scheduling, deficiencies, quality, safety and other critical site variables.
As the ideal candidate, you will have several years' construction experience in the industrial, commercial or residential sectors and can manage large projects within tight deadlines and budgets. You are a hands-on manager with a demonstrated track record in construction site supervision. You are familiar with all labour, health and safety standards and various other regulations affecting construction sites. Computer skills are an asset, with an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project and the Internet. Possessing strong communication skills, you are at ease working collaboratively in a team-based environment. Well-developed personal leadership qualities and the confidence and ability to relate well with customers are required to be successful in this role.
