It’s difficult to describe Tim Dorsey’s fiction. It’s definitely crazy, but actual craziness or mental illness is not funny, whereas Dorsey’s fiction is hilarious. Far-fetched, bizarre, and implausible, but hilarious. The madness involves The Sunshine State and its wacky inhabitants, but it’s much, much more than that. 4 volumes in nearly pristine condition for a negligible $8.
