QA Software Specialist
COMPANY PROFILE:
Our client is a worldwide leader in IP-based video communication and collaboration services, with offices in the United States, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and China.
Our client is seeking a qualified and seasoned Quality Assurance Software Specialist to augment our software development and R&D teams.
In this role you will report to the VP, Technology, and you will be responsible for developing, monitoring and enforcing quality assurance within internally developed software. The company developed software is currently used in our production environment, and we continue to invest in this area.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Works with Java developers to create and enforce a quality assurance program:
o coding and documentation standards, unit testing frameworks; integration testing; build system integration of testing frameworks
• Works with R&D to augment and automate testing procedures
• Works with the Technology departments to ensure quality, successful product releases.
• Applies quality principles to the software development
• Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines: Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently.
• Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flow chart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
• Recommends program improvements or corrections to programmers.
• Reviews computer operating log to identify program processing errors.
• Enters instructions into computer to test program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
• Observes computer monitor screen during program test to detect error codes or interruption of program and corrects errors.
• Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
• Sets up tests at request of user to locate and correct program operating error following installation of program.
• Conducts compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs.
• Monitors program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.
• Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction.
Required Experience:
• 3 to 5 years of progressive combined experience in software QA
• Project management in a team environment
• In-depth Java J2EE experience
• Java testing frameworks (Junit and TestNG) required.
• Experience in Web technologies – PHP, Python, Perl, XML, XSLT
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operational environments
• Networking knowledge and protocol experience in Video and/or Voice environments.
• Ability to review, select, configure, administer and interpret the results for component testing.
• BA in Computer Science or significant demonstrated experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance.
