I am a learn to skate instructor and offer private, customized skating programs for children of all ages throughout the fall and winter months.
My program offers a unique, hands-on approach to skating. The children therefore acquire their skills much faster than in a mainstream program, and thoroughly enjoy their experience on the ice.
Skating aids are never used, however, a special technique of holding a beginner skater is often used in my program until the child is skating independently. This teaching element in particular has shown to drammatically accellerate the child's skill development, however it is never used in regular skating programs. Your child will benefit from physically supported falling, and supported trial and error skating. Enjoy sitting on the benches and watching your child's skill development evolve before your very eyes in just a few lessons with this specialized approach to teaching.
My classes work very similar to regular class instruction and once the child is skating semi-independently they will begin to learn all of the skills taught in any beginner skating program with the advantage of learning additional specific skills that are eliminated from these programs. Their learning is facilitated with an enthusiastic, encouraging "skating mentor", and instruction is given of the highest quality.
