Description:
My name is Mike Melo. I am 21 years old and currently a classical guitar student at Mohawk College. From the age of 15 I have been playing guitar. I have taken classical guitar lessons from Dr. Alvin Tung (University of Toronto Classical Guitar professor) for a year now and also from John Earp (Brock University Classical Guitar professor) for a year also. I have now started my own teaching method where I have taught over 50 students from ages 9 and up, left handed and right handed and from beginner to advanced in the past 2 years
What I offer:
I offer an easy and comprehensive private lesson for any one of all different types of learning styles. I teach classical/electric/acoustic guitar and Musical Theory up to Grade 2 of The Royal Conservatory of Music.
Cost:
$30 an hour or $15 for a half hour of guitar
$30 an hour or $15 for a half hour of theory
I also offer a package deal if you do decide to take 2 hour lessons I charge half price for the 2nd hour. So $45 for 2 hours. (2 hours of guitar or theory or a combination)
How I work:
I work from inside my home which is a smoke free/clean and safe learning environment. I use a guide in which I have created from a teacher and student’s point of view as I myself, am both. I created vast exercises to build finger, hand and arm muscles and proper execution of these muscles. I also have an intensive fret board workbook I have designed which is a 1 time cost of $10 and these are exercises on helping you with different patterns on the fret board, scales, and fret board memorization exercises.
Main goal:
Music has inspired my life in a drastic way and I want to help other people experience the true beauty of music as a musician. It is my goal to turn you into an outstanding musician and be an outstanding mentor. Last year I held a concert for all of my students at the end in a public facility to perform for the community and their families. I plan on doing some at the end of this summer as well.
