Description:
Our client, located in King Township, requires a Production Supervisor to manage the production process in their flooring manufacturing company. This permanent, full-time position is well suited to a driven, results oriented individual who is committed to hard work, integrity and quality. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills will allow this talented professional to significantly impact the growth and development of junior workers through hands on mentorship and guidance.

Duties / Responsibilities:
· Manage production operation to meet cost and scheduling requirements
· Analyze, plan and schedule work force requirements
· Lead, supervise and motivate a team of 10 to 15 production workers
· Plan daily, weekly and monthly tasks of each production worker to ensure deadlines are met
· Monitor and manage inventory/raw materials ensuring appropriate amount/quality is maintained.
· Coordinate maintenance and repairs to equipment, machinery and tools
· Strategize and execute plant production workflow process in order to maximize efficiency in the department
· Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment
· Design, develop and implement workplace health and safety policies, procedures to ensure compliance with provincial/federal Health and Safety requirement
· Identify and resolve production problems that may arise
· Act as a mentor and guide for junior staff, aiding in growth and development
· Train, orient and monitor performance of new and existing staff
· Identify areas for improvement and act as a coaching, help workers improve performance
· Recommend and implement cost savings measure in the production process
· Regular reporting of production productivity to Owner/President
· Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
· Completion of High School is mandatory. Trade School or Apprenticeship program completion is preferred.
· 3+ years of experience leading production staff in a wood manufacturing environment
· Demonstrated experience working in a wood-processing environment; exposure to wood-processing equipment including: rip saw, planer, molder, optimizer (chop saw) and end matcher.
· Strong leadership skills; one who commands respect and has the ability to motivate staff.
· Decisive, action-oriented, innovative leader who moves strategy to action – results oriented
· Strategic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to empower staff to work their best
· Superior organization, time management, communication and leadership skills. Possess strong attention to detail with exceptional planning and scheduling skills
· Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on improvement.
