Description:

Celebrate Canada’s birthday the old-fashioned way! Throughout the afternoon enjoy games for the whole family including sack races, three-legged races, water balloon tosses and a tug of war. If you need to brush up on your history then sit in on a lesson about flags in our old-fashioned Schoolhouse and make your own Union Jack.

Take part in many pioneer demonstrations including quilting, spinning and making fleece mice from carded wool and listen to music by the Old Time Fiddlers & Dancers. Lang's own Sawyer-Massey steam engine will be running and the blacksmith and carpenter shops will also be in full operation. As well, all visitors will be treated to a slice of Birthday cake in honour of our nation!

In the Main Gallery, “A History Worth Harvesting” outlines the development of the Peter Hamilton Manufacturing Company whose machinery helped to modernize 19th century farming and contributed greatly to the rich agricultural history of Peterborough County.

Admission: Adults ($6), Students and Seniors ($5), Youth (5 -14) $3, Under 5 free, Family ($15). Refreshment booth, free parking and picnic area available. For more information on this and our other events, please visit our website at www.langpioneervillage.ca or call toll free 1-866-289-5264.
