If you are interested in learning classical, acoustic, or electric guitar (any style - rock, pop, country, folk ethnic) in a way that's not boring but fun, and most importantly develops your inner skills as a musician, you have found the right place. In contrast to some other music schools that use instructors who are detached from the performance music business and stay at the same point only to teach year after year the same music material from the same books to every student our instructors are creative and up to date. Our music lessons, including guitar, are taught by professional and experienced musicians and at the same time music educators, active performers who have also instructed at a university and know well the RCM curriculum for those interested in pursuing RCM exams. We offer lessons for both beginners and advanced students and have a special approach to learning. Lessons are crafted according to the needs of each individual and learning materials such as books, notes, CDs are provided by a music teacher. Call us to find out about the details. The focus of lessons:
- the understanding of melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic vocabulary;
- (for jazz guitar) different styles of jazz playing such as swing, bebop, cool, fusion, latin, free, etc.;
- (for classical guitar) different tunings, period styles such as renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, contemporary
- fingerpicking and plectrum
- broadening the knowledge of the instrument;
- aspects and various approaches of playing in a band and playing solo
- gaining the ability to play in the group using charts and by ear
- combning multiple parts on guitar
- playing from standard notation and from charts
DO NOT BE FOOLED by some teachers who tell you that you can master an instrument without putting much practice time into it, but if you are willing to practice everyday the assigned material you will quickly notice a rapid improvement and with patience and work be able to get to the point where SOME of your guitar idols are. Please go to our website www.jrmusicstudio.com for additional info on the teachers, locations, contact, etc. Contact us. IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS.
