Description:

Shaw Cablesystems G.P., the leading entertainment and communications company, has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Service Representative in our Saskatoon office. Reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Support, the successful candidate will be accountable for providing technical customer service support to our Internet customers in a call center environment.

Accountabilities:

• Provide courteous and professional technical support to customers and technicians
• Troubleshoot technical issues with regards to computer configurations, PC hardware and software
• Work with minimal supervision on assigned tasks and provide assistance as required to other Technical Service Representatives
• Escalate technical calls to the Technical Service Representative 2
• Schedule and manage customer support work activities
• Promote the features, advantages and benefits of Shaw products and services to our customers while delivering an exceptional customer experience
• Various other duties as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 level education
• A degree/diploma in computer technology would be considered an asset
• Experience in troubleshooting computer and internet problems
• Basic knowledge of cable television connections and related products
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, TCP/IP stack installation and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Macintosh would be an asset
• Previous sales experience is considered an asset
• Ability to work with others in a team environment as well as deal with the public
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
