Tai Chi
Sometimes called "meditation in motion" because of its graceful, dance-like movements, Tai Chi is a gentle and relaxing form of Chinese traditional exercise. Among its countless benefits, Tai Chi helps rejuvenate your health by enhancing your body's immune system functions.
Tai Chi I
Learn the complete short 36-movement Tai Chi form (Wu Style). A manual will be provided. Thursday 20 March to Thursday 22 May 2008 (8-9pm). This course runs 10 weeks and tuition is $100. At the Greene Centre, 1090 Greene Ave. (just below Dorchester).
Tai Chi II (Prerequisite: Tai Chi I)
Learn the next section on the way to completion of the 119-movement long Tai Chi form (Wu Style). A manual will be provided. Thursday 20 March to Thursday 22 May 2008 (7-8pm). This course runs 10 weeks and tuition is $100. At the Greene Centre, 1090 Greene Ave. (just below Dorchester).
Chi Kung
Chi Kung is an ancient form of controlled body movement, breathing and concentration techniques. It balances and enhances your physical, metabolic and mental functions. It reduces stress while increasing your mental clarity, energy and stamina.
Chi Kung I
Learn how to create, circulate and attract chi-energy to you. Materials needed: a cushion to sit on. Manual provided. Thursday 20 March to Thursday 22 May 2008 (6-7 pm). This course runs 10 weeks and tuition is $150. At the Greene Centre, 1090 Greene Ave. (just below Dorchester).
Family Massage (Chinese Massotherapy)
Family Massage is widely taught and practiced in China as a potent adjunct to healing. It helps maintain good health and increases vigour. Learn how to massage your partner or members of your family, and treat numerous health challenges without the use of drugs.
Caregiver’s Massage Course - this is a crash course in Chinese Massotherapy for those who are taking care of other people. It is designed for caregivers to receive and learn how to give massage with acupressure and massage techniques. This course runs 2 one-hour classes and the tuition is $40. Check website or call for dates and times.
Movement and Gentle Stretching courses- this is a course incorporating the best movments of Tai-Chi, Chi-Kung and stretching exercises. Wednesday 2 April to Wednesday 4 June 2008 from 11 am-12 pm. Tuition is $100.
